Give me a reason to give up the fight. I've been holding on for far too long tonight. I've gotta get out now. I've gotta let go. Won't you forgive me, for being so cold? I'll admit that I was scared to get too close. I don't want to lose you. You're all that I've got. CHORUS: You know, they say that nothing lasts forever. I wonder if it's true. Maybe I don't wanna know the answer. But even if I knew, would I open up my heart to people any more than I do? Would I ask for nothing more? It's hard to say for sure. Show me the feeling you promised to hide. 'Cause I can't help but feel the promise was a lie. You don't have to do this. How do you feel? Take off your coat and get in the car. Let us go and live and love with all we are. The future is waiting. Waiting for you. FINALE: Would I change the way I live my life? And never leave your side? It's hard to say. It's hard to tell. But in the meantime, I might as well be here with you.

Open My Eyes 02:36
Someone tell me a joke, 'cause I've forgotten how to smile. It's been a while. I know that it's not my style to be so blue. But you help me through the day. CHORUS: So won't you open up my eyes dear? Wash away the pain. And let me see the sun now. Shining through the rain. Oh, I don't have the words and I don't know where to go. So take me away now and we'll make up the words when we need them. And you help me through the day. CHORUS BRIDGE: It's just another day. It's just another song. It's good enough for me. It's good enough for you. La la la. CHORUS

Once again, communication has failed. And the train has derailed. Now we're never gonna get to where we were going. Never gonna grow the seeds we were sowing. I don't have to be the one that you kiss. But you're someone I miss. And I'm wishing I could see your wonderful smile. Maybe take a walk and talk for a while. How I wish I could go to wherever you are. Make it right and bring to light the things that need the light. CHORUS: I will admit, I've got a problem or two. I have got no social fluency, at least not like you. When it comes to romance, dancin' and lovin' I don't have a clue. Don't count on me to be an ideal lover. But if you should ever come to think that I just might wear a disguise, let me make it clear to your surprise: I got nothing to hide. Time will surely separate you from me as you follow your dreams. And I know you're gonna get to where you are going. Know you're gonna grow the seeds that you're sowing. How I wish I could go to wherever you are. Make it right and bring to light the things that need the light. CHORUS BRIDGE: I got nothing to hide. You're gonna get what you see. You've got a friend here in me. It's true, forever and always. How I wish I could go to wherever you are. Make it right and bring to light the things that need the light. CHORUS

Autumn Wind 03:47
Under the full autumn moon we would watch the starry sky. And dream away the night, dream away the night, until the sun would rise again. And in the morning we rose to the sparrows in the trees. Music in the breeze. Music in the breeze reminded me of walking with ease. CHORUS: Oh I don't know where it's taken me. Something swept me away in the drifting leaves. So it would seem I have been taken by the autumn wind again. Over the hills we did wander despite my elder soul. As far as we could go. As far as we could go, before the season came to a close. And in the evening we sheltered and watched the setting sun. And knew the time had come for autumn to be done. A final breath of wind in the air. CHORUS Instrumental CHORUS

We were lost in a sweet serenade. A couple of songbirds within the gale, hopelessly bound to fail in the end. As I stood at the edge of the sea, wondering, "Was I listening to the signs? Underneath the truth will I find something else?" CHORUS: Honey, I'm dying to tell you all that you needed to know. And in the end, you would be free. Free to dance to the music of our lives. Of a spark igniting a rose, I wonder, "When will this burning end? How long can we pretend all is well?" Now the hands of the clock are my own, reaching for something worth waiting for. Show me what the wait is for. (Please don't walk away.) CHORUS II: Honey, I'm dying to tell you all that you needed to know. (Honey, I'm trying. Don't leave me in the dark. My arms are open.) And in the end you would believe all of the truth. (Come close and whisper. Tell me no lies.) BRIDGE: Hear me, I'm calling you homeward again. (Guess I was wrong all along when I told you forever.) All along I had believed that you and I (you and I) could dance our way through it all. CHORUS II

The Pilgrim 05:05
How do I begin to foster a peace of mind when the only truth I find slips away like water from my hands. Into the sand of time. These hands of mine won't hold. In the shadows of believers, a victim hides. And cannot compromise with the ones who carry in their hands all of the plans for who are banished to the dark. CHORUS: It's a cruel world we live in. You know it's true. The things that we do to one another, and the way we hurt each other... It's not exactly paradise my friend. Is there something more required to get along than knowing right from wrong? Will we find the sensible thing to do after we choose to don the shoes upon the foe? In the fading glow of twilight, the pilgrim finds the higher that he climbs, the longer that the daylight seems to last. This is the stalling of the falling of the night. CHORUS BRIDGE: Don't get me wrong, there are exceptions. Beacons of hope, standing alone above the rest. At best, they might reach the crest. SOLO CHORUS
7.
Am I just a drifting, lonely boat? Do I have a say in where I go? Overtaken by the wind and rain, is there something here for me to gain? Will I be the one to wait for the wind to blow my way? CHORUS: All along I knew that I could be something more than just a boat adrift upon the sea. I will open up these sails and fight the wind no more. All along I knew that I could find something more than waiting for the morning sun to rise. Guided by the light within me, the wind takes me to shore. Now I know, I'll always go where the wind will blow. There may be some things I can't control. But I am the captain of my soul. So let the howling winds keep blowing strong. I will stay the course and carry on. I am not the one to wait for the wind to blow my way. CHORUS BRIDGE: Blow, ohs. CHORUS

Charlotte's on the ocean to find a place she loves. Where there's lots of trees, and knees don't give out so easily. So far she's yet to see a sign of anywhere at all. Charlotte longs for guidance from someone braver than she. And as the light begins to dim, she hears her father's words: CHORUS: Love will carry you all the way. To where you belong someday. And love will lift the veil of fear. Making all things clear. Don't forget: you are loved, you beautiful child. You'll be alright, though it might take a while. Charlie's in a rocket to enter the deep, dark unknown. So far he's yet to see a sign of anything at all. Following the stardust he wanders far and wide. "Where, oh where am I?" He calls out the question in resign. Sometimes the searching is all we know, although the comets glow. CHORUS BRIDGE: Charlie won't you fly? Charlotte don't you cry. Charlie, please be brave for me. Charlotte, please be brave for me. Please be brave for me. FINAL CHORUS: Love will carry you all the way. You'll be where you belong someday, I promise you. Love will take away all of your fear, making forever all things clear. Don't forget, you are loved. You beautiful child. You'll be alright, though it might take a while.

So here we are again, my friend. And time is standing still. Nothing has changed at all, you know. On the timeless hill. All my favorite memories are here with you. Tell me another story now. The one you never wrote. Find all the words and let them out. I will listen close. All your favorite characters will live again. CHORUS: How glad I am to be with you. And to share this life with you. I love you. Rollin' like a river, goin' with the flow, and feelin' just a little bit lighter. Livin' in the moment, takin' in the light, and shinin' just a little bit brighter. No need to hurry on your way. 'Cause time is standing still. Please stay a little longer now, on the timeless hill. All I ever needed is right here with you. CHORUS BRIDGE: (da-dums and whistling) CHORUS

about

This is a thoughtful examination of love, joy and connection (with a pinch of cynicism to shake it up). The primary songwriter of this collection is a ridiculously emotional individual who probably contemplates far more than is healthy.
In any case, these songs were written through great care and much pondering. We truly hope that some part of this collection stays with you, and gets your feet tapping. All the best.
-Andy
